Headliner/shiftcable

I need a hardtop headliner and a shiftcable.

Have both,

but don't know if I can get the hd-liner out safely? it's less than 5 years old. Theshift cable is the original from the 86. on the head liner do you need just the clothe or any foam, etc. also?
