Thinking about changing over.. I have been runing Denso's an there activity rate slows down too fast..

Fow what you already have into your car, I'd buy a wideband and be done with it.

Wheres a good place to get one.. I have seen one I think it was a LM1.. How do they work?? Do you just adjust fuel @ WOT till you get a target AR??

Got mine from Mike at Full Throttle. I got the Innovative LC1 with the gauge. The wideband monitors the AF kind of like the scanmaster, but gives you an actually AFR readout. You should have a general idea of what kind of AFR you are looking for and tune accordingly ( spark, fuel, boost).

Chris, get the MAFTPro and the LC-1 without a display. It is displayed on the MAFTPro. FThrottle helped me out!

If you dont wanna go all Pro-Mod with the setup, and you dont plan on running leaded race gas, get a Bosch O2 sensor. It was WAY more active than my brand new denso. Just be very careful when installing all O2 sensors because the internals are brittle. Alot of people beat theirs up while installing it and wonder why it doesnt work that well.

Caspers electronics has a heated O2 setup for our cars.

Leaded gas will still kill a heated O2 or even a WB O2, so if running leaded fuel occassionally, you may want to stick to the low cost Densos and change them frequently. I've got the heated O2 setup and have ran at least 15 gallons of leaded fuel thru and they still are very active. Maybe Vader has had better luck with Bosch, but most folks on here would say stay away from Bosch, I know I went thru 2-3 of them in no time at all and they were never as active as the stock AC dElco replacement.

That is a bit misleading as far as a Wide Band goes. As long as the heater circuit is working properly, you shouldn't have problems with the wide band going dead like the stock sensors.

The manual that came with the Innovate WB says otherwise. Yes the heated element will help to "burn off" some of the contaminents before its up to op temp, but after a car has been running, the heated element does nothing for heating as the exhaust gas temp will be way hotter than the heater element in the O2 is going to make it. But, I have had much better results with heated O2s and lead gas than non-heated, but they still eventually get lazy.

OK, i guess I'll add my .02 worth.
I personally hate bosch sensors. It's just been too difficult finding a "good" one.

I've shifted over (about 10 years ago), to Delco heated O2's and have had great luck!!! Specifically AFS-74. I've kept all the sensors I've gone through in the last 10 years, and I have 3 in the drawer and a new one in the car.
My car is a part time racer/street car which sees it's share of leaded race gas over the last 10 years, so I don't think a total of 4 sensors is bad.

Just my opinions. Assuming you're not ready to spend the big bucks on a wideband.

I agree. I had terrible luck with Bosch sensors. Some died faster than non heated ones. Then I decided to go with a Max Effort and and an EGT and forget about O2s.

I'm using a heated Denso from Casper's on my second year. And, this year straight pump 110 all summer long. :D

Thats very strange. Assuming they sensors were treated very delicately, didnt use any silicone, and still burned out, I cant imagine why. I had a new denso in mine and it was barely alive after a week. I put in the Bosch one a year ago, and 35000 miles later, it still is very active. Cycles O2 CC's every 15-20 seconds.

Lead will effect the sensor, but it'll take a while to get messed up i run nothing but leaded gas and i change mine once a season. a wide band is the sh-t once you have one you'll ask yourself how did you do without.. my 2 cents thaks
