Heater/AC box question?

i'm looking to put an 86-87 GN motor into an 84 Hurst Olds... I've heard that the heater/ac box is a different size on the GN/TR to accomodate the down pipe. Anyone confirm this?

Although I'm not positive, I would say "no" I believe they are the same box. Only difference would be the TR box has a sheetmetal heat shield. I removed my heatshield long ago for easier valve cover removal with no negative results. HTH !

Same identical box. I went through this with our Monte SS.
The things that can be different are the evaporator core, heater core, accumulator as well as the accumulator support bracket.
The only Monte part I didnt have to change was the heater core. All the other a/c parts had to be changed including the condensor. If you car had a V6, then you would already have the correct one.
