If i install the heater box from an n/a Regal onto my 84 GN, will the heat from the turbo damage it in any way, melt away. The heat shield doesnt seem to be able to go on n/a box. Should I just get a hot air box or should I install the n/a box and be done. Thanks Rudy

If I remember right there's a difference in the 84-85 cars. You could always make a heat sheild for the tubo if you think you need it.

You mean heater-only, or A/C? The heater-only box has a heat shield, or is supposed to, in about the same location relative to the motor. But the heater core is over by the fender.

Who needs A/C, anyway?

Best investment I made was to buy the ac delete box from G body and so far no issues with the heat. We tried one from a car with no ac and really saw no gains in space which is what we we're looking for. The g body piece is nicely done, well worth the money and the heat still works. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the responses guys, but I would like to have a/c on this project. Ill leave the no a/c just heat for the project after this.

That's true. The only gain in space is from the other A/C junk, not the box itself. Which is not insubstantial, but still....

Hmm, which are you talking about? The only thing I see listed at gbodyparts is a panel that deletes the heater as well as the A/C, leaving no box at all.

That's very interesting. Certainly a different approach. Thanks!

(Seems it's buried away in the "Specials" section. I was looking under the various car models.)
