Heater control Help!!!!!

87 gn when under accel heat comes on full blast (not blower just temp) at idle seems to get cooler a/c compressor works (134a system) pressures good, any ideas? I did replace the one way valve under hood. are there any others? Thanks.

Door in the heater box may have the plastic lever broken off, and the door is swinging loose.
Glove box out, and U can see it.
