heater core/controlls problem

i just installed a new heater core in my buick. now i cant get any of the heat/ac controls to work. im guessing the blower motor isnt turning on. i plugged in the purple wire to the blower. there is a black wire next to it, but i cant tell where it goes to. and the other conector with five plugs is installed right. its probably something real stupid that i forgot to plug in or something. any ideas?

sounds like the plug that goes to the blower resistor...the terminals of which stick up out of the top of the hvac box.
