Hey guys!

New to the board and I have some major reading up to do. I've come across a possible purchase of an 83 T-type for $1500.

The Specs:
3.8l turbo w/ automatic
All original with 38k miles
Needs a windshield
Needs the filler panels between the body and the bumpers (I'd just suck the bumpers back up into the body)

I was wondering if it would be worth it or not to go ahead and pick this up. So far I've been doing some research and I see it's a carbed setup and has a 7.5 open rear :( I'd assume I'd want to swap to the later efi setup and find computers which I imagine is a bit hard to find. I build turbo volvo's so I'm not new to the turbo thing or having to do wiring/ecu swapping.

I'll get to reading the boards here and seeing what all I can find out. Honestly, do you think it's worth it?

Thanks,
Mitch

My guess is that you could do much better by paying a bit more for something worth a lot more. Fixer uppers will nickle and dime you to death. You'll loose your ass. Take your time and shop around. There are some deals to be found. You want to find the guy who just spent lots of money fixing up his car and is now selling it for pennies on the dollar.

Let us know if you have any questions, and welcome to the site.

X2! I tried that before spending the extra money for a low mileage mint GN....Cost me so much money to get my old 86 fixed up...I finally gave up and sold it. Check the "Cars For Sale" section on here
