Help Got home limping again ----- Code 14

life was good made a few blasts on the highway then while cruising the car hesitates real BAD, engine light comes on, and the ran like crap from that point on.
So checked the codes and its code 14 --- High temp sensor
The car never got over 180 on the mechanical gauge.
WTH is going on?

More than likely just a bad sensor. I've had my share of a bad one thats why i keep a spare on hand.

Typical causes for this code include:

1) Severe engine overheating
2) Defective Coolant Temperature Sensor (resistance too low)
3) Short circuit in CTS-ECM harness
4) Defective ECM

Well, what's the Scanmaster saying the coolant temp is?

didn't look at the scanmaster, just the mechanical gauge

Wrong post. Sorry. Though, it sounds like a bad sensor to me.
