Ive got a trans 2004r I got out of a 85 GN with the #017-1t85b00647 on tag.
there is no bq on the tag i pulled it myself and im a thinking this was a replacement trans?and not a original?Can anyone help desifer #

Are you absolutely sure that the "0" behind the "B" in that sequence is not a "Q"? Post a pic if you can. I'm assuming the tag is blank other than the stamped letters? It is supposed to have a painted BQ on it but the paint comes off easily, even from wiping the grease off. Pulling the pan and Checking VB markings and the governor will help you ID it.

Yah the the dang tag is blank but for the #'s.I looked at the tag again better and there is a ver small(looks likea nik on that 0 after the B)must be bq then.that makes me happier.
Anyone know the # on the servo to be sure?

8635694 is the servo cover for GN servo, however I don't know if that is all GN, T-Types or if they started in a certain year.

8635692 is the servo cover for MCSS servo, which is smaller than the GN.

If it is a 'BQ', odds are it would be either one of these.
