Help identify this connector

I just picked up my first turbo buick a few weeks ago. I am going through it fixing issues.

I found this connector under/behind the AC dryer. It was unplugged. Does anybody know what it is for? Both ends go into a hole in the apron.

its like somebody was working on the car and forgot to plug the two together. I just can't figure out what wasn't working before and if it was intentional or accidental.
