My 87 GN seems to have a way too low stall speed. I took a look at the converter today and it's defenetily not the original D5. They previous owner told me it's been replaced but didin,t know with what. Can someone help me to identify it: It's all grey and the only markings I could find from it was "4122M -" stamped on the side. There was also something written in yellow right next to the axle in the middle of converter. I couldn't figure out what it was, it could have been "ba..... II" or something like that. Do they still make those D5's and where could I get one? Any ideas how much they are?

Are all stock D5 converters the same because i know that they can be found in some cattys and some V6s as well as SS's and 442's. So if it says D5 and has never been cracked open would it be the same no matter what it came out of?

Thanks for the 2004Rperformancecenter.com tip. The problem is that I live in Finland and the freight here would probably double the price + taxes. What I should have asked was if anyone knows if those D´5's are still available through GM? We have a GM dealer here so if GM still has D5's in stock it would get way cheaper than order it from 16 000 miles away. Anybody any ideas about the converter that is in the tranny right now? Could the part number 4122M- be from Transtar? I know one parts store is selling those here, but transtar doesn´t seem to have the converter numbers on their page.
