My 2002 regal gs burned a hole through itself last night? My wife left the switch on high and left her jacket on the front passenger side seat? Smelt smoke and her jacket and the bottom cushion and the bottom part of the back of the seat had a hole in it?? Is there any such thing as the seat heater malfunctioning and not shutting off? It does get really hot? Can't seem to find anything on the internet about any recalls on this? Let me know what I should check as far as the switch any bare wires etc. Is this going to be expensive to fix? Thanks guys. jretrodude:confused:

I had a similar problem with my 2003 GS.
There is a black box under the seat that shorted. Was VERY hot. It was in the center under the seat. Replaced that, and it was fine.
I had it replaced under warranty, so I do not know the cost.

HTH, Brian
