Help me price these parts out....ta33, blue tops, ported intake, whole engine...

I have an 84 gn that i have been woring on for a couple years now. When we got it, the turbo was bad. I went and bought a ported intake, 36lb blue tops, thrasher 92 chip, and a ta33 turbo that actually has a te61 center section in it. Now, Ive got all of this on my motor now, and the motor still runs like it did from day one, LOUSEY!!!! It is just extremely week. Im starting to suspect the piston rings might be shot. Starts, and runs good, just kind of spits every now and then. I also put on a new injector harness, and afpr along with the upgraded ign. module and pack.

Im thinking im just going to switch everything out and go with an intercooled motor from intercooled88ss. Now, what do you think I could get out of this motor with all of those parts on it? The turbo, although about a year and half old, has only about 60 miles on it. the car has just never ran right. Would I be better off parting it out, or selling the motor complete?

one more thing, would the ta33 and blue tops work on the 86 motor?

I will help on the easy question. the Ta33 will NOT work on the 86-87 motor but the blue tops will depending on what you want to do to the motor. But before you do all this why dont you post whats wrong with the car and maybe we can help you threw this small bump in the road. If you want to try and work threw it lets first start off with a compression check to see if the motor is healthy. let us know what you decide to do.
 
already been threw all of this. I have talked to NUMEROUS people off of here. Im not saying anything bad, its just that nobody has been able to lead me to an answer. As to the compression test, ill go ahead and answer although this was discussed a while back.

When I did it, the driver side came up fast, but the pass. side came up real slow. Some people have said spin the motor for so many revolutions, and then some have said let it to until it peaks out. I did both, and they all hit about 145, BUT the pass side too probably 10 revolutions before it hit that, and the drive side took a few.
 
didnt know it was covered you have a link? did you do a leak down and what where the results? Was the motor ever rebuilt could have been faulty machine work.
 
no, the leak down test is one thing I have never done. I need someone to come out and do it, but dont know anyone that could. I honestly dont know if the motor was ever rebuilt, but i do know it was messed with because at the end of last year, i was tracking down an oil leak, and found that the valve covers were both loose. Looks like someone was messing around. But, Im basically done, and just want to put in an 86-87 engine that is known to be 100%. Whats the fastest a 100% stock engine can run if you up the boost?

Also, how much do you think i could get out of those parts, and possibly the whole engine with everything??
