I assume your talking about the lockup solenoid in the trans. Did it work before you put the new solenoid in?

lock up

it didn't work, the trans guy changed it over to a switch that would lock up once in 4th gear...
then had trans rebuilt changed out lock up switch in trans to a stock switch and now no lock up so i figured its either the " new" switch or something wrong in trans so i was wondering if i can some how test the switch to see if its the switch or if there is something else that i can look into thanks

You could ground the switch by using the A and F terminals on the ALDL port.
Another way would be to drain the fluid out of pan, remove the lu switch, install a checkball into the lu orifice tube of the switch and see if it that forces it into lu. If the checkball trick works then at least you know its not a mechanical problem.

Check the simple things first....my lock up was not working even though the scan tool said the computer was calling for it...turned out to be the fuse in the fuse block...upper right hand corner...I forget what it was called...I think it said ECM/Sol but I'm not sure. This will also set a code 31 if it's blown.

no codes

i checked but no codes are thrown.... i will check the fuse box and see if the fuse is good thanks
