I have installed a progressive alky injection kit on my IC'ed 84.
I set it to start @ 15 psi and full in @22 psi. When it starts to
inject , the car stalls and falls on its face. Do I need a special
alky injection chip? do I need to start injecting at a higher psi?
Or just take the kit off and sell it, so the car will run @ WOT again?
Thanks for any input.

Why the 2 nozzles?? You making that much HP, that it's needed?
Sounds as to you are flooding the engine.. AKA: Putting the fire out.
Have you talked w/ Julio about this??

It is a SMC kit that I got from a guy on the board. It is a single nozzle.
Is a chip needed or not, one says it is, one says a chip is not required?
Sounds to me like this idea is not going to work for me?

BTW, thanks for the input, guys. Not being critical of either of you,
I am just confused and think it was not a good idea for a shade tree
mechanic like me! LOL

yes im making the hp ... have dual nozzles off julios TTA wich is on mine now an dual nozzles on the GN ... i actually leaned out my GN an blew a HG on the stock long block going for a 10.60 pass

Are you sure the kit is progressive??

sounds like the old turn on and off that SMC had.

where are you spraying in the alky??

JD

The kit was NIB, never installed and the PW with it says that it is progressive and it has
2 dials to set start and full on. I set start @ 15psi and full on @ 22psi.
I ordered a turbotweak chip for it and I'll see what that does.
Right now, I don't have much hope. I'm sure turbotweak has never seen a setup like mine
before! : - )) A HA with a 87 intake and 87 turbo and the turbo in the HA location!

Then you should be spraying in the up pipe and what kind of nozzle is spraying the alky???

A better idea for me is to take the kit off, drive my car & enjoy it and forget about alcohol injection
like Lee told me to. : - )) + save my $500/$600 or whatever it is! LOL

Nope, the IC was the best bang for the buck, IMHO. I didn't put that much into the
IC setup & I can run 15/16 #'s OK, so I am slow. I have been slow so it is nothing new for me!
LOL : - ))
Thanks for the input guys- see you at the Buick GSCA Nats in 2013, I hope. I'll be sitting in the stands
watching you guys! Heh, heh LOL

i have the same kit and have a TT chip...how do you have yours hooked up?

I hooked it up as per the instructions with the kit. Per the lights on the control box,
it is working as it is supposed to. Thanks.

a wideband could really help you to dial the car in.the afr is probably way off when the alky comes in causing the car to break up.its a blast when you get a handle on it,but sometimes needs some work.
