Hey guys, please help me with an alky education. Which kit? How much more power can I expect? Who has the best price?
 
Alky control is the most common in the TR community. Guys name is Julio...Razor is his screen name. Straight up all around good guy. With your setup as it sits assuming the engine and trans are good add alky, get a alky chip burned for 25 psi.
26 inch tires that will hook with say a 1.7 sixty foot and if your car weighs around 3600lbs easy low 12s or better...tune.

I agree. I've had SMC and Razor's kit. I'm not trying to bash SMC's kit, but Razor's is alot better and worth the extra $. Razor's kit is quality, has fail-safes built into it, and will allow more boost.
 
AlkyControl/Razor without a doubt.

As far as power increase, I went from 13.10-13.30's without alcohol, to an average of 12.0-12.1, with a best of 11.94 with alcohol. THE BEST power to dollar ratio hands down.:cool:
 
with the te 44 ,all stock motor (meaning heads, cam ,intake and the rest of the bottom end stock), with 93 and alky , with traction , and tuned with more boost can go mid 11s at 115-117, little more on a good day


how are you currently doing without alky ?

one thing you will find out if on the stock trans is that will be the next thing to upgrade
 
Is this Alky thing a GN's version of NOS?. What I mean is it thought of as the same way ,do you have to fill an exterior bottle everytime you gas up or just when you need it type thing.

The alcohol is stored in a tank where the stock coolant reservoir sits (coolant tank is relocated)

How much is used depends on how many times you go over 10-12 PSI of boost ( this is typically where it's set to turn on at) I use about 3 gallons per summer.

its not nos , just charge air cooler and octane and fuel when using methanol..result is you can turn the boost up on pump gas and not knock ... this results in lower ETs , premature tire wear and broken transmissions :)

you fill a reservior (about a gallon for the GN) and its an on demnd injection ,(only under boost) and consumption is typically 1-2oz per second while under boost
if you can only run 17psi boost on 93octane and then inject alky and tune to run say 28psi (not uncommon) , on that scenario you could gain 150hp
 
Alky is very addicting, just replaced my pump, it lasted exactly 5yrs. Razor's kit is worth the extra coin, no brainer. 5 gallons last me about 12 months, just scored 5 more gallons for $15.

Won't comment in that thread anymore till one of them SHOW'S me with a time slip.. Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda's don't count !! Pretty simple in my book of "Theory's":rolleyes: .. Well if ya want to run a 50/50 mix knock your self out !! Ok I have to go get a FRONT mount to make our car faster :p
 
got it guys. straight meth only, Alkycontrol kit. Do I need a single or a dual nozzle setup?
I think with your setup a single will do as long as you havent had any major engine mods. Get a hold of Julio (Razor) and he'll help you out. He knows more about it than any group of us will.
