Hello everybody. I was seriously considering painting my own car. I want a really deep dark black finish. I am thinking laying the black is the easy part if I do it right, but here is what I want to add. I want a silver dual strip down the center of the car. I want it to be almost invisible to see. You have to really get close to notice it. I saw it on a new Challenger and I really liked it. Would anyone know how to do this? Also if you have any tips on painting your car, feel free to post!

Thanks
ZNix

PLEASE don't do stripes :eek::rolleyes:

+ 2 on the strips on the gn.I did see a 2011 black challenger today at a auto auction that had the side billboard strips that was made of carbon fiber vinyl buried in clear that looked pretty cool couldn't tell until you got right up on it.

Grumpy, that is no where near what I want to do. The whole car would appear black from as close as 3ft away. But when you get right up on it, you will see it. So faint, barely noticeable. Besides, those are downright ugly stripes! Its what I like so too damn bad! :D

It’s easy to do I did ghost flames on a truck I had once, The hardest part is getting it to a point you like so you may want to do a test panel with different mixes until you get it the way you want it. What you do is paint the car lay down one coat of clear then on your 2nd coat tape off the stripes. Then mix in some pearl or metallic, or candy in the color you want the stripes and put a light coat on just a mist trust me even if you don’t see it when you lay it on you will see it in the sun. Then remove the tape work and lay down a 3rd coat of clear over the whole car. That’s it that’s all there is to it.

Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for!
