I personally would not run E85 in a car that is not designed for it!! If you do run it, why not run it with 93 octane....so that you can use less of the E85?? The less of that stuff the better...........could be asking for problems down the road??

Get an alky kit and don't look back! Just make sure you got the basic mods to support it.....fuel system upgrades, gauge, scan tool!!

I see very little difference between a good front mount intercooler and a alky kit on a hot air car. If anything the intercooler is a one time purchase and every spring you just clean it out. An alky kit has electrical and mechanic parts that can go bad. You have to keep the alky tank full too, thats money every week or month depending on how heavy your foot is. I mean really why do people say that alky is a better bang for your buck when it comes to a hot air car? I know I have argued this on here before, but maybe since the last time alky has come further then I know of? -Nick

Which one do you recommend? IC or alky?
I am a bit  (Confused)

I dont think i have the room. since i have a FWD the tranny pushes the engine forward a bit. No room behind the radiator or behind the grill. i guess alky it is.

Jerryl-
I without a doubt I think the intercooler is the way to go, but it sounded like there isn't room on a Riv to fit an intercooler..........thats why I said get a alky kit. I have never seen a turbo Riv in person.....so I can't say for sure how much room there is. But, obviously he knows his car and believes the alky will be a better choice too.
Alky Vs. Intercooler one topic that may never die....

......... Alky Vs. Intercooler one topic that may never die....

LOL. VERY true!
For me, Alky was the easy choice, based on my goals.
I wanted a "Stock appearing HA". That alone sealed it.
I have gone through GREAT lengths to ensure that.

If I did not care about the appearance, and, was not as dertermined to get a HA in the 12's (without air/air IC) I would have added both air/air & Alky!

One thing everyone will agree on; The decision depends on your goals, budget and mechanical abilities.

Peace Out

I've just rethought this.

An 84/85 intercooler slapped on, with alcohaul injection in there, should push a car, with basic mods involved, into the 300HP region, yes? Also. Can you put a TE34 on our car's, or not?

I would go with one or the other and then use the rest of money to get supporting mods. And of course whichever one you get is personal preference! ;)
I think which ever route you take you would be close to 300hp at the flywheel, but its the torque that makes these car sooooo fun!!

Hehehe.

Well, I'm thinking something along the line of the intercooler setup. Plus basic mods. Include a larger aftermarket turbo that will fit. And then, just in case I feel like it, slap in that alky and see this ol' thing fly! ;)
