well i installed my smc kit and was having some tuning issues
it seemed to make the car hesitate and sputter upon going full throttle, my egts were around 1450 and was tunning the pump speed starting high and going low never saw any knock just kept hesitated upon triggering could not raise the trigger any higher than 15 lbs (knob feel a little funny when turning)
so i turned it down a bit more and it hesitated and then POOF!!
there went the head gasket couldnt see behind me for a mile!!
all this with a street chip and only 22 lbs of boost
i was running 20lbs before without the alcohol for 10,000 miles
one day of tuning and POOF!
any suggestions? am putting on port matched loc-wire head tomorrow,will be running by 10PM(cant start till 5:30)

well it was number 6,the only one that was blown,the others looked untouched.
6 blew out like ive never seen before
well now it has lockwire head gaskets so well see how it runs now

I read your first post yesterday and have been thinking about your problem. I'm not sure I buy the SMC kit as being the culprit. I have been biten more than once by coincidence. I would be inclined to double check the fuel system including wiring and regulator before going back out and doing it all over again. Was the gas good and how is the filter and fuel sock?

Based on your testing, you should not have blown a HG even without the alcohol.

well after driving it today it seems as though when full throttle the car shuts down for an instant, but only when spraying the alcohol/water mix
when the system is shut off it doesnt do it
is it possible the water content arounf 35% is to much
i had figureds that maybe there was too much cylinder pressure with the speed knob up high and number 6 just got an over abundance and cylinder pressure was to much
every cylinder was perfect untouched except number 6 which was totally blown out

Ya got me. Maybe there is quite a bit of variance between pumps? Maybe nozzle sizes? Mine is on full pressure and I never have a bog problem at any speed.

My mix is 70% denatured and 30% mentanol. I quit using a water 2 years ago.

Sounds like you have it narrowed down to a AI problem and I am out of suggestions at the moment.

i found that with out the alky it still had the upper stmble and detonation,i raised the fuel and it got better BUt i still have detonation which i believe is coming from the one cylinder so i am changing my injector tonight

maybe the headgasket was on its way out, #5 & #6 always running leaner from too much air, and when you cranked the boost up to 22 it FINALLY pushed out?

do you have a jason cramer power plate?

once i installed it on my tta, i was able to finally raise the boost beyond 19 psi.

the studder that was happening sounds like you were drowning the car with too much alky, or blowing out the spark with the extra boost, what plugs are you running?
you said your egt was 1450, digital i assume, but what mph was this at?
my egts' dont climb above 1450 till 110 or so,..
 
never heard of th "power plate"
were would i puirchase this and how much
the odd thing is while driving today with the alky i was getting
detonation when i turned it off it went away?
