Kinda weird, but when i go into boost at around 10-14psi, it sounds like the boost or turbo sputters. Dont know exactly how to explain this, but when i put my foot down, the boost hits rock solid after 14psi and before 10psi, its that in between point of 10-14psi that i notice this. I noticed this when i loosened the rod to adjust my boost controller. When i turned up the clicks on the boost controller, i set it to about 22-23psi of boost, and then i noticed when i took it for a run it kinda sputtered bad and would actually make that funny sound when you let off the gas while running boost, that sound i believe comes from the K&N filter as soon as you let off the gas from boost. Anyway i turned the boost controller knob all the way down to where i was just bleeding pressure from the rod again. So now i got the rod doing all the work again and set around 22-23psi and it kinda went away. But im still getting a little bit of fluttering between 10-14psi until i nail it, then it completely goes away. And it doesnt do it when im building boost right up to 10psi.

Sorry for the long thread, but im not sure how to explain this, hopefully some of you guys can catch on to what im trying to say.

thanks

Dan im not sure of the shift points. I would have to guess between the 1-2 shift up to 10psi of boost. Right after that it flutters slightly up to 14psi of boost. Anything past 14psi and before 10psi it doesnt do it. Kinda weird. Why do you ask about the shift points??

thanks

Are you saying while your building boost between 10 and 14 PSI and you let off the gas pedal your hearing a fluttering sound? If so, I believe it's the back pressure escaping through the filter??? I've read to install a BOV for this? I think this is OK.

No Dan, all i do is keep my foot on the gas while the boost is up 10-14psi and it makes a fluttering sound between those points, with my foot consistentely on the gas and staying at that amount of boost.

thanks

It is probably the sound of the incoming air meeting the Turbo blades. My car makes the sound whenever I am in the boost.

If your boost stays consistant, and you are not getting any knock I would not worry about it.

Thanks Herb, it was really bad when i did the boost controller setting thing. That is when it got real bad, the car actually started hesitating between those boost points until i got on it. Then i adjusted the rod again to meet my boost needs and not use the boost controller at all, and it seemed to have mostly gone away. I actually thought it might have something to do with the boost controller or the adjustable wastegate. When i played around with those two things, it either got better or worse.

Holy **** Kevin yours does the same thing?? Cool, im not alone. As long as it doesnt affect performance.

thanks
