How naive. I guess it's human nature to hate the other guy? Newsflash - the economic boom of the last several years has, in large part, been brought to you by cheap foreign labor.

cheap labor is a different thing than making knock-off parts that dont work well. Worse, to sell them as the real thing.

I see it all the time over here. Crap crap crap... and the locals are fine with that. bleh.

I had this discussion with a TB vendor recently....

I don't care where it's made as long as it fits and will last. But the reality is that a lot of the China-made stuff neither fits nor will last. The welds suck and the metal is thin. But if you polish it up all nice and shiny the Americans will buy it.

Yeah, I know a lot of stuff around my house is made in China. Veneer on furniture is paper thin and chips with the slightest provocation. Dye in clothes fades after 2 washes. My wallet, which I can assure you is not that fat, tears holes in my pants after wearing them for a couple of months (my ass is not that big, either, thank you very much). The applie juice I serve my kids is made from concentrate from China of all places and tastes like crap. We can't make our own apple juice for gawd's sake? It's scary how much we don't make in this country. And the average joe can't afford the stuff we do make.
