This is not me first time on this forum, i had the screen name audi 4 life or something like that. Anyway, Im going to drop that sweet ass 3.8 into my 1996 audi a4. Gonna do a little stroking and light weight pistons...anything I should know about rebuilding these engines? Trouble spots...for future reliability....thanks guys!

engine rebuild is pretty straightforward, one thing to consider is tu use a new timing cover with the high-volume conversion (deeper pump cavity to clear the larger gears) found out the hard way if you get the "do-it-yourself" booster kit you can lock the pump up by having the spacer off centre...and it doesn't take much to do that....other than that the biggest problems will be adapting the electronics....good luck.....

You might want to search the archives on the hi volume oil pump. Most people on this board don't like this mod. Ask Nick Michale. Don't know if you can put a stroker crank in a stock block. As far as the electronics goes. Casper's can make you a custom wiring harness. Don't go to wild on the cam. If you're going to make alot of horse power i would put a girdle on the block. It would be helpfull to know how much the car will weigh and how fast you want to go and how much horse power you intend to make. Go here http://www.gnttype.org/ and check out the performance recipies. Lots of good info here. Steve

The past few issues of GMHTP magazine have had a three part rebuild of a turbo Buick motor which had some good tips specific to our blocks.
