Hey I just signed up just saying hey!

new and my first question is whats the difference between the 87 T-Type and the 87 Grand nation drive train? Im looking at a 87 t-type drive train for I believe a cheap price 2200 OBO just need to sell a truck first.

Anyways I dont own a g-body currently(had an 81 malibu) and I live about an hour and a half west of chicago. I would be swapping into my 92 F-body if I can in fact get this engine combo so what else do I need to look out for?

the guys ad

its got about 60k miles on it. everything is included.

this is for a engine/tranny combo

computer
wiring
ta-49 turbo
intercooler w/ pipes
trans
converter
aftermarket downpipe
2 chips
all sensors

$2200
must go soon, i have to pay off school.

They are exactly the same. All of the trims have to do with the appearance of the car, not the performance of the engine/drive train.

Welcome to the forums. Don't mind the low level of activity around here today, it's slow for the holidays. You'll usually have 20 people jumping at the chance to answer a question for you.

If everything is in good condition with that engine/tranny it seems like a good price.

Yeah I figure with the holidays being slow, I'll try to get the guy to pull the heads off before checking it out hopefully it all looks good. It would be going in the way it is just to work all the little bugs out, plus going from an LO3 firebird the T-type running gear will be a big improvement.

Sounds like a Great buy! I wouldn't even consider pulling the head, if its a factory seal I wouldn't break it until I had to. Do a leak down test instead. Maybe cut the oil filter open to inspect for metal. But for the price I buy and get the heck out of Dodge before he changes his mind or someone else finds it.

Edit...thought it was a complete car then I read it just the drivetrain approach with caution, what all you getting for $2200?
