I know t-types had black out trim, but what about t-limited also did t-limited come with one of those fake converitable tops?
just curious

Not all t-types had the blackout trim, some were chrome. Not all the limiteds had the landau top, it was all in the way they were ordered. There were endless combonations.

If it came with black out trim there will be code W02 on the option code sticker on the under side of the trunk lid.

I forget the code for the landau top.

About T limited

Was the landau roof option rare on t-limiteds is it comon?
if its not asking to much if any body has pics of t-limited with Landau roof i would love to see it.
also where T-limiteds also have bench seat and colum shifts? or would there be a option for buckets and floor Shifter?
Did t limiteds have leather steering wheel?

It was an option, for the landau top. On how rare that is I am not too sure, It all depends on the way its optioned I guess. If it means anything I have only seen a few with landau tops, Never seen one with the landau top & black out trim though.
Whats really rare is when you find one with a landau top & a power moon roof.
Never seen a limited that did't have the bench seat colum shift. They typically all have colum shift & the pillow type bench seats.
There are some out there that have a mini center console but still retain the colum shifter. They also had different interiors too & leather is rareer the cloth.
Yes they had the leather steering wheel.

Click here for pics of a limited with black out trim.

I believe there were two Landau Vinyl roofs.

Standard one and heavily padded one which is rare.

I believe the real convertible looking roofs may have been on the Presidential series or some other promotional Regals.

He is correct, I forgot to mention there were 2 styles.

My build sheet says "C04 Vinyl Padded Roof Rear Half (Landau) - 1/4 " Pad.

Hi about t-LIMITEDS

Salvage V6 said it was promotional or presidential Regals
The heavly padded roof. I dont want seem stupid but what do you by promotional, you mean like a give a away.

Crispy, re-read it. ;)

I said the fake convertible roofs were on special models and perhaps even dealer installed.

Not a typical Buick option like the Landau roof models the two types that were available for order in 1987.

I think the fake convertibles were later models in Regals, that roof treatment being the whole roof and with fake convertible struts in it.

I've never seen a Regal like that. I'd imagine that would be a dealer or specialty conversion thing. Personally I think they're hideous, lol. Everyone knows it's not a real convertible, just looks kind of ghetto to me :D

still talking about t limiteds

So this is what under stand there two vinly heavly padded and regular vinyl. the one thats heavly padded looks like a convertable top.
the heavly padded one was dealer instaled option so it could have been instaled on any trim level regal
I also understand it is "ghetto" I dont know how many Grand mothers do drive bys and drink 40s. But on the other hand i did by in Newark Nj and I live queens by shea staduim so i guess maybe it is Ghetto

well i guess this thread ends today
Thank you For your Help
please xcuse the spelling

Didn't mean to offend. I wasn't aware there were two types of vinyl tops. My '81 Regal had a burgandy vinyl top (just the rear, like the two pics) that felt slightly padded when you pushed on it. I'd hardly have called it heavily padded, but it wasn't just vinyl on the bare roof either

Did your car come with the optional Daytons and metallic purple paint too!

Ghetto has nothing to do with it. The vinyl top treatment was a very popular option on MANY cars built during the 70's and 80's. Many Cutlasses and Grand Prixs of that same time period were all over the road. The roofline of the G-body lent itself well to a landau top.

IMO, the landau roof adds a classy touch to a classy Limited package, especially if you include the Landau light bars.

krom's car is the epitome of class............2-tone and all!

ALL '87 T Regals (even non-turbo ones) came with the leather wheel. The color of the wheel depended on with interior color you had.

About t -limiteds

It was supose to make you laugh, Grannys doing a drive by come lightin up. i might as well tell i picked up blue limited(305 carbed)with that strange looking top as a donnor for my trusty but very rusty 86 T-type so i wanted to know if that top was worth keeping if might have been some thing rare or unique. its a shame what happened to my 86 the leaky t-tops destroyed the car.
