pick up an extra spark plug and check to see if it's actually getting a good spark- if it's got a weak spark, it might not fire.
personally, if i was looking at it and had the money, i'd buy it and use a car trailer to get it home before someone else shows up to get it. it's much easier to figure stuff out when you can go screw around with it any time you want.

well I made an offer and he accepted, so I'll be picking up the car this Saturday. When I get the car home and get to actually put my hands on it, i'll definately be making another thread for help. Thanks guys!

Double check that coil pack and ign module if it is anything besides a AC DELCO model...replace it...

Let me say something.

If I read correctly, you said that the owner sprayed ether in the intake and the car started right up?

If this staement is correct, you are not looking at a bad coil pack or ignition module or even a cam sensor. You are lookiing at a fueling issue.

24 PSi is very low for fuel pressure. 35 to 42 should be normal. I would get a fule pressure gauge and a check the pressure and b does it fall off quickly after tunring off the key. If the answer is true to both of these then youu need to start looking at the fule system. Lines, regulator and fule pump.

If this car is very clean and you want a piece that is going to be more cruiser than boulevard basher, I think you are getting a nice car.

Yes that was correct, he told me it started right up. I was not there in person to see this.

When I went to look at the car all he did was lean in the window and turned the key, and the car didn't just turn over it actually seemed to start and die out. You could smell the fuel burn out the tailpipes.
