The GN I recently bought has a high torque starter that sounds awful while starting. The seller actually apoligized for the sound. Is there an upside to having one on these lower compressioned motors? Mines fairly stock with a few nice add on's. Do high torque starters spin slower? Should I go back to a stock one? Thanks for any help.

Maybe it needs shims? There'd be worth a try before spending money on new starter...

I think I'll try that 1st. Hopefully standard GM shims will fit. Thanks

I have a stock one you could have cheap. I really like my lt1 starter.
