I'll argue.... a high volume pump doesn't appreciably increase the strain on the cam chain and cam sensor when clearances are right......cause the volume pumped at a particular pressure is the same as the std. volume pump.


I don't agree with this. The HV pumps more through the bypass at a given psi.

The motor sees the same volume, but the gears are moving more oil.

I see where you are coming from. You are saying the load is there when you add the volume (at pressure) going thru the engine + the volume (at by-pass pressure) going thru the by-pass is greater on the HV oil pump as compared to a std. volume pump. I had not considered this.
