Travel channel has a show on now about super trucks. They are semi's that run 100mph in the quarter, have two hemi's, do monster burnouts....etc.

hell my series 60 Detroit can run 100+mph with a 300 Komatsu on my back grossing 117,000 lbs. it takes me a few miles to get there but once the rpm's are up around 1750 she just keeps pulling!

No these were not normal trucks....they were putting out 3000 hp and such with two superchargers and 4 turbos and such....

There were some cool vids of the tractor portions doing 360's and a HUGE smoke cloud

Had some guy doing 218 across the salt flats in his semi.

Pretty cool show.

I figured as much when you said it takes a few miles to get up to that speed.

This show also had some rigs with custom airbrushed cabs/trailers, a truck show, pike’s peak run, and some other goodies.

Definitely worth a watch or TIVO or whatever. Some very sweet turbo sounds too.
