Drove my car from NC to PA. Then PA to OH.

I found myself at the pump wanting to open the hood to release some heat.

I know about exhaust wrapping, but have also heard there are benefits and cons against doing so.

So.....Thoughts needed.

Do you still have the weather strip that goes across the back of the hood on the ledge? Remove that and you will get some better air flow under there

Any other tips because i have the same issue with a really hot engine bay. I had to build a heat shield on the underside of my hood so the paint wouldn't melt.

Removing the rear hood seal is not a good idea IMHO.
Think cowl induction. When moving the high pressure are if the windshield will cause air to enter at the cowl and slow air coming through the radiator.

I can see starving some air but if you are running dual electric fans you may not have an issue

Ceramic coat the up and down pipe, but only on the outside. Doing the headers will help as well.;) PM rmar since he used to do it for a living.(y)

Like to see some data on that. My car runs super cool in the Arizona hot summers. All the guys here remove it to reduce under hood heat. You should see nick micales garage. He's removes them all.

If the loss of flow through the radiator is effecting your coolant temps you need to address your current cooling system.
