I am looking forward to receiving my alky kit this weekend. I was reading on SMC's sit and it was stating that denatured alcohol from home improvement stores worked. Where do you get the lubricant to add to the alcohol? I'm just trying to get the things I need before the kit arrives. Also where does the injector go? Do I have to drill a hole in my up-pipe? Not to sound stupid, I'm just new to this as I have never seen an actual car with a kit installed. I've seen a few pictures but thats about it.

Yes you do have to drill a hole in the up-pipe for the nozzle install.

Directions are excellent with that kit along with good pictures.

I got my Klotz lube from Steve at SMC so perhaps you can add it to your kit order prior to shipping.

One quart lasts a long long time.

It's also used in other alcohol fuel racing applications so perhaps a search for Klotz lubricating top end oil locally might turn up something.

Denatured alky. works just fine.

what lube???

if you're buying a new SMC kit, lube is no longer needed. new style pumps. says so in the instructions. great kit. install took 90 min. and I cleaned as I went. Good Luck!!!
