Just wondering if any of you guys have fabricated your own turbo shields. How you did it and materials used. Or other methods to cover the turbo. The Shields I have priced are too much money for my budget at this time. Thanks!
Darrell

I Have a nos turbo shield if you are interested. It will cost you twice as much to fabricate your own than get this nos one.

G-Force,
Thanks......but what is a nos turbo shield ??? Sorry, I don't understand.
Darrell.

New Old Stock
It is a stock turbo shield from GM that is sitting in my garage for years. It is now discontinued from GM.

I got my stock shield and cut a Power 6 logo in it, then got a scrap piece of metal, bent it to fit inside, under the Power 6hole. I coated the shield black, and the piece behind it a chrome like high temp coating. Looks better than any one I've seen. I used black allen head bolts to hold on the chrome back, I like! Get creative and be proud of the money you saved. ;)

I made one out of flames and it turned out really nice. Problem is, I dont have a polished compressor housing:(

I will eventually do something with it.... I kept the design that it was cut from just incase I wanted another.

Dream it up then do it!

Post pictures of the custom sheilds so we can see them. Thanks ;)

Now this is a stupid question, but why don't I see any pics on this forum? How can I just post a pic? I will be glad to put up some pics, but how? I see the attach file, but my pics are too large of a file. I have a mac computer and can't figure out how to compress, or shrink a file. I can E-mail a pic. to someone and have them change it. Any ideas?

you could always get some of that turbo wrap... doesn't look too good but gets the job done. i'm thinking about wraping mine with header tape under the factory cover.

Check this quicky creation.

Another view. I polished the turbo by hand. What a pain.
