Just made my front air dams outta black wall base and aluminum sheet. Will post some pics soon - they look real good! Anybody else try doin sumin like this?

i have seen painted stockers or the fiberglass aftermarkets, but post yours i bet it looks cool`

I'll post em (pics) soon, after christmas - I modified the size of em too. Makes it look a little more agressive. BTW, the whole project was done for less than $20 and I still got 10 ft of wallbase left I can use for the island :)

Look good

Hey thats a good idea. Give us some details on how yoy made them. Now you need the office depot black garbage can for the intercooler scoop:D

well, i dunno bout that! My bro make me NICE ass shroud.

Just check out the site - i try to keep it updated a lot and will be adding more pics of my car on there (just got dig camera). They were real easy to make. just need a makeshift brake for bending rear aluminum backing angles and a drill to drill mounting holes. the wall base (some of it) has adhesive already on it although i will warn that you will need to "flatten" this stuff out.

If i were to make another set, i would use the straight strips they sell (4ft. long i think) but i dont know if these would be long enough for one side of the dam.?!

you could have the whole project done in less than 1.5 hours even if you arent as handy as myself ;)

Intercooler scoop garbage can

Really the intercooler scoop garbage can does not look that bad. It looks factory. Check it out on my webpage.

yea, your right! Dont look bad at all. But dont think it would be anywhere near big enough for the 24 row! I hope you actually call it the "garbage can scoop", that sounds REAL nice.

Wonder if anyone else has got some weird alternatives like this?!

Hey don't knock the trash can!

There are alot of guy's that run them and have great results. If you build it right you can make it adjustable for street or race for more benefits.

I personally don't have one, I run the full Kenne Bell front spoiler with the built in scoop. But if I didn't have the KB setup, it would be the circular file time. LOL

hey britkken how do you make that garbage can scoop, i have never heard about that before.

Go to any office depot or office supply store and pick up a black office garbage can. It is about 15" tall and the opening on the top of the garbage can is about
8" x 15" wide. It is wide enough to fit between the air dams. Cut the bottom of the garbage can out completely. I like to use a dremmel tool. Next measure the depth of the intercooler shroud opening at the bottom of the car. This measurment will be transfered to the bottom of the garbage can. Next find out how low you want the top of the garbage can to hang below the bumper. Mine hangs 3". Now cut the garbage can in half all the way around with the dremmel tool. The bumper opening should be smaller than the intercooler sroud opening. Bolt the garbage can to the sides of the spolers under the car and enjoy!

Measured gains I am not sure of. I know that it gives a more direct flow of air to the intercooler though. The way the original shroud comes down under the intercooler seems to me to not trap as much air as a scoop of this design does. I do think that it helps the intercooler cool down the tempature of air from the turbocharger a little more than a stock set up. Alot of guys ran this set up in the past and some different designs have come up through the years. This has been the cheapest I have seen though and actually looks like a factory set up. I have even read on this board about one scoop that is designed to open up and drop down lower under the car to trap more air when the car goes into boost.
