Any suggestions as to how to safely remove the '3.8 SFI Turbo' emblem?

I was rubbing wax off my GN the other day and, while my mind was elsewhere, accidentally broke off the "3". I bought replacement emblem on ebay but now that I'm looking at it, it looks like a real bear to remove the old one without scratching the hell out of the paint. Also, what sort of adhesive should I use to attach the new one? It is used so no adhesive on back.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Dental floss and mild solvent if needed.

3m makes a great thin, double sided foam tape that is black. Found in auto stores.

Clean surfaces with alchy

Grab a hobby knife and start trimming.

Piece of cake.

Another Emblem topic, while I'm at it....Grab some metal polish and hit those side and back Grand National emblems with the checkered flag on them. Amazing difference if you've never done it. BLING! ;)

I saw a 86 Gn over the weekend with the "3.8SFITURBO" on the hood bulge, but it wasn't a emblem. It was aftermarket stick-on chrome/black sticker that looked like the stock emblem. It was a very well made decal. Fooled me till I was right up on it. Anybody know if their still available from anywheres?

thanks for that link my85grandnational! I ordered a bunch of decals from them a week or so ago and am completely satisfied. Excellent quality and worth the price. Was even able to mimic the 84 option label sticker.
