Okay, I was closing my hood and started hearing a "pop" upon closer inspection the trim piece at the rear of the hood is off-center and coming in contact w/ the p/s fender.

Question: Doe the piece just clip on? I need to realign it as it is off by about 3/4" and need to figure out how to get it off or if I can slide it over, etc. I tried to cheat it over w/ a rubber mallet but no joy.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

FWIW & IMHO:
It's hard to believe that thing slid over by itself over a period of time and won't go back where it belongs even with the help of a rubber mallet.
This is only a guess and not the hard voice of experience speaking here, but I would spray a bead of WD-40 along where it joins the hood at both the top and underneath the hood, let it soak overnight, and mallet that mother again. Actually, somebody pulling on the side opposite the side that you are tapping with the mallet will probably help.

Yes, it just presses on.
Be careful beating on one end, itt could bend and then you'll have to get a new one.

Open your hood. Start with a hammer & a soft block of wood (Pine). Go from the loose end all the way across every few inches.
You will be tapping on the underside of the molding.Make sure to put a blanket or towel across the cowl so when it pops off it doesn't scratch the molding.Do not try & take it all off at once you may have to go back & work it out evenly. They kink very easy.

Close hood & re-attatch from 1 end or the other by pressing on.
Spray lube will help & just use a rubber hammer to tap on if it gives you a problem.

I've seen them slide also not sure what causes this.
