i just got the headers and it looks like the o2 sensor is on the other side [driver side ] of the motor now. I guess i just need to run a new wire over to there now. will this be ok , i dont want to cut the wire and have it read wrong because of cutting it.

It will still read o2 #'s fine, i would suggest soldering and using heat shrink for proper connection.

MADE is the key word...I believe they have been discontinued for quite a few years now...

I started to put them on tonight, there a pretty neat looking set up and i hope they help me out some over my stock ones ive been running. I found a lot of leaks at the cross over and my new felpro 1400 gaskets are leaking to, so this should help out when i fix all the leaks.

think i will pick up any gains with this set up [ headers, crossover and uppipe]

That sucks arse

Hey Turtle TR - get the ATR headers...they are made of stainless T304.....mine fit great and work great too. They are a bit pricy but if you can afford 'um they are worth it !

I grabbed the headers, crossover and downpipe for $895.00 (OUCH !) sorry...I just had a flashback there...but you can buy each piece separate.

man i hope you didnt have spool problems before

cuz you will never spool now.

a friend had some hookers on his car and lost all bottom end

but hey thats him hopefully they will work for you!

btw yea go ATR if possible, or the poston ceramic headers,

stock headers are NOT a bad design, just badly executed.

very badly. all the primaries should be flush with the 'log' i guess you could say.. but atleast on mine.. NOPE none of them are, all of them stick out 1/2" or more..

the aftermarket headers are pret much the same thing just DONE RIGHT, i think a little bigger too, not much

Should i even waste my time and put them on, i looked at some old post and it seems that they are not good headers, i thought they would be better then stock .

what do you guys think

I had some 86-87 Hookers with a custom up-pipe on my Hot-air. The topend was nuts - the bottom end was soft. I put the stockers back on and gained .5 in the quarter.

Try them - I wasn't at the performance level you are at. Make sure you have some stall to build boost @ the line tho.

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of postons headers. $895 is pretty cheap. LOL...compaired to my setup I had on my alltrac. It was a off an 88 TRD Rallye Alltrac that broke the bank @ $730 just for the manifold and down pipe  I wish money gre on trees right about now.

i say give em a shot.the majority of the bad things i've heard about them is from guys with stockish 87's.if i had the choice between crappy stockers and nice hookers(with your combo)i'd go for the hookers.

later,sean

As for Poston's header's, I just found a crack on my 13,000 mile Poston headers!!!   On the worst side of all for me, the passenger side right at the #2 primary!!!

POS!!! Gonna go ATR as soon as I get some money saved up...Good thing I am back at work now...

Headers

Fjm568 I also had a crack on the passenger side of my low milage Poston headers mine was also on the #2 primary were it welds into the main tube. But hey don't get discouraged, sent mine back and got a new one under warranty because they're not supposed to crack. And maybe if they have enough problems they can get it corrected from the vendor they are purchasing them from.

I'm gonna try and see if I can get my money back on them...Hopefully I can...If not, I will probably do what you suggested and see about getting it exchanged and then maybe try to sell the set...

I don't want to have to do this again...I'm tired of having to re-do things...It is going to be a PITA to change on my car right now as I have a 3" DP and to get the pass side header off, I will have to take the alt and a/c compressor bracket off just to get the header out...Needless to say, I'm a little pissed...It's worse now that I'm back at work and don't have the time to work on the car...I will be able to almost afford to buy stuff again, but I don't have the time to work on the car since it's my daily driver...

I'm going the ATR route or another way if I can find out it there is another set out there somewhere that would work with my DP...
