hello everyone ,

had this gn for 3 mts now just did a reseal of the intake
welded the cracks in the manifolds new vac lines and hoses

ok i got 2 questions

backfire at cold when takeing off /snaping the throttle
seems not to do it when warmed up (same before the intake work)

coils ohm ok new wires and plugs

so maf? or a out of adjustment of the cam sensor?

last got only 11lbs of boost
i replaced the tee hose with a basic tee( but i did notice a restrictor in the old one
(was that just 86-87?)

if i pull of the vac hose and drive it should max boost right

does 15 lbs sound safe with 94 octane ????

thanks for your help (trying to get it ready for buick weekend at norwalk but its cutting it close)

I HAEV THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 85 BACKFIRING WHEN COLD- REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT DIDNT FIX IT. REPLACED THE VACUMN HOSES AND THAT DIDNT DO IT-NEXT STEP WAS TO WELD THE CRAKS IN HEADERS, BUT LOOKS LIEK YOU DID THAT AND DIDNT HELP. MAN SURE HOPE I CAN GET THIS THING FIXED!

further update

if i unplug the maf it does not backfire (i clean the maf before did not seem to matter

are the 85 maf the only year it fits

any got aftermarket reman ones?

i pulled the vac hose at the tee and boost came up i
need a right vac tee or a boost controler

can you check the cam sensor to see if its on the money?
