Sorry for the stupid question but it is late, cold and dark outside. I am getting ready to replace the HA coil pack with a 86/7 setup. Made a quick trip to look at the coil pack and the back bolts look like a PITA to remove. What needs to come off to replace the module and coil? I am trying to limit the amount of time outside doing this.

Thanks

don't forget an adapter...only 3 wires from the '84 wire harness match up to the 87 coil!!

It is not that difficult, but, a real PITA compared to the 86/87's. :eek:

In case you have not yet removed it; 3 bolts
At the DS header - Bracket
At the the waterpump - Bracket
At the intake manifold - Bracket

You can also remove the 4 nuts underneath the module, but, THAT is a PITA!

As stated;
You need an wire harnes and bolt on aluminum adapter.
You can also cut and resolder the wires, if you choose not to use the wiring adapter. (Listed on GNTTYPE) :cool:

I already have the adapter plate and caspers adap harness, hopefully tomorrow I will have time to do the swap.

Go for it. As I recall the spark plug wires are reversed when you convert to the 87 IGN. If you have any probems after the switch post ASAP. Brad

FWIW;
The wires (on either side of the coil) does not matter.
Both spark at the same time (waste spark system).

I am sure you gents already knew this and most likely had a brain lapse, AKA - Ol' timers ............. (I know) :eek:

Loss of memory here. I screwed up the wires from the coil module to the coil pak. Take-care- Brad
