I have an old SMC kit with a alky hose about a little over a foot long. Made for 86/87 cars.

I asked julio what the hose is made from and got the answer, but i told him where i was going to inject it and he said I would need a solenoid.

"The hose is teflon lined stainless steel braided. Fittings are brass."

I was planning on injecting it at the elbow going into the intake from my spearco kit.

I understand that it is under vaccum and will suck the reservoir dry.

My questions are...
1. Where is the best place to spray. I am using the port on the front of the intake for boost gauge.

2. Where did you get longer hose?

3. Did you use a solenoid and if so what type? A NOS style solenoid what he is talking about?

Thanks for your help.

Jerry

Jerry, I got my line fron julio. I also run a selonoid which I got from him as well. As far as where to inject well that's up to you. I have my ideas and reasons why but other have there's. Since your running a spearco intercooler setup you have a lot of pipe area to chose from.

good stuff

thanks for your help

I appreciate it.

Any others have a particular injection site that has worked well?

Thanks again,

Jerry

Jerry, if you want send me a pm and I will tell you where I would put the nozzle and reason why but the choice is going to be up to you.

You want to give the meth the longest path possible to evaporate and mix with the air charge.
You can choose a shorter path with the shortest being the "Intake runners" There are trade-offs for both and it all depends on your set-up.

Do a search in the alky section on this. The first link will not apply to your set-up.
There was a recent thread on this subject.
In the end, part of it comes down to philosophies based on different goals.

Edit #1;
Added some links. Of course, the first link will not apply to your set-up. ;)

Did a search and located the post in the Alky section.
Trying to help a fellow TX member out . . . . .
