The pos cable on the battery is getting hot just got the motor redone but want start it sound like the battery is dead but it is not got a new starter to the fly wheel turns but I'm thinking could something be to tight in the motor I had a machine shop put the motor together I am lost right now help

Turn the engine with a socket and ratchet. It would have to be really tight to overcome the starter.

Bad positive cable my car was doing the same thing a few weeks ago. New cable and all is well.
