It all depends on the market. I used to think hotairs weren't going to be worth so much because everyone wants the intercooled. I sold my 84 T (Dr Pepper car) and was offered $4500. I agreed and he had the car appraised and when we made the deal at the bank in Albq, they opened the appraisal and it was valued at $7625 with 130,xxx miles on it. I was told because the SPID was on the trunk lid in mint condition, the door stickers were both there and very readable. Headliner (perfect) and interior was near perfect. Everything worked and it ran and drove great. Like a new car. You never know so it is best to not get your hopes up until after it has been appraised. :)

That one looks like a heck of a deal. I would love to have another hotair besides my 73 Vega GT project.

You know what opinions are worth:cool: but TO ME it isn't worth but half what he is asking.

buddy of mine has one he built while working at fisher 1 in flint, 20k miles, all options with t-tops. he would let it go for less then 10k easy. been sitting on blocks for 18 yrs

Basing the purchase value of a vehicle off an appraisal is not good. The appraisal is the opinion of one person, and it's not the person purchasing the vehicle. An appraisal will help in fixing the value for insurance purposes, and that's about it. Even then it's still an argument with the insurance company. :)

X2 !!!!!!!!!!!!

My point was that they were willing to lend him what it appraised at to buy the car only we agreed on the $4500 first. Oh well. I wasn't going to take less than that for it. :) I totally agree that the car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it too.
