You can put a set of edelbrock heads on it, paint them blue and it's a Dog no more.

It's got AC, too.

Remember when you could tell the engine maker by the color
Olds was gold

You can go to the other board and do a search in the waiting room for my name ES then look at how to post pics to see my 442

That's what I was wondering,,,,that Olds motor was painted blue like the Pontiac motors of that era. I remember Olds motors being painted gold and / or orangeish red:confused:

Olds 350 Rocket = Gold
Olds 455 Rocket= Silvery Blue http://www.volocars.com/showroom/showroom_d.php?id=10793&nhs=0&make=olds/442&show=

This is the blue ,not sure if its a 455...

All of the last Olds 350,403, 307s got "GM Corporate Blue" since they were put in anything.

My '72 Supreme with a factory 455/turbo 400 was no dog. No GN, but no dog either. Who put those tips on the gold car? They are supposed to be straight out the back not pointed down like that. I would love to have another Cutlass but the prices are getting WAY out there.

I paid sticker for mine.
First new car I bought and @ 19 did not know you could get them down.
Maybe a 1 owner all original one is worth more than the sticker - now?
I never really liked the 69 442 as it was slow, as compared to my 65 - 442.
I liked the color on mine because it kind of looked like at Hurst Olds.
The engine & transmission have never been into and it will still smoke they peg leg as long as you want.
The push button am radio did quit working the other day.

well, maybe "dog" was a bad term, but the post '70 engines were saddled with much more stringent emissions requirements, lower compression, and timing (had to run on reg unleaded.....)

of course one could modify any old 455 to go fast, but out of the box my '70 W30 would kill anything later!

and on the tires of those days, no way were they 14 sec cars....Atlas Buchrons might get you out of the 15's

I am old.....been there, done that when they were new:D
