I'm in College Station and don't have any machine shops here I trust. I have a guy in Austin, but he is slooooooow. So I need a shop close that you would trust with your Buick block. Someone good, but fast, reasonable, has a torque plate, and has built some bad ass Buicks.
Houston/Austin boys: machine shop recommendations please.

Since you are under the gun, your best bet is Westside Machining. 713-664-9419
They do all their machining inhouse and have control of he quality and delivery.
Talk to Kleete and tell him JD and Jerryl send you . . .
. . And we know JD has a BAD BUICK! (No pun intended)
I am sure there are others, but I have never dealt with them (Except one other one - Joe 281-351-6202)
These typically have longer delivery times . . . But as always . . $$$$ always talks.

Ledford machine in Waco is pretty decent, but you need to talk to the machinist and tell him exactly what you want. Gary is the owner and he has 1 torque plate. If you need head work done AllTex cylinder heads is just outside of Waco and they know what they're diong but make sure to tell them if you need something other than a standard rebuild on the head. PM me if you want their numbers.
