Looking for a shop here in the Houston area, I have a 86 bone stock TR that needs rebuilding....Can anybody recommend a good shop that wont kill my pocket book? What price range should I expect to spend? Thanks in advance

Houston machine shops

West Side Performance on Emnora for fairly quick work. Talk to Kleat or Jeff. Kleat is the Buick guy and both real pleasant to talk to. OR Houston Engine and Balance on Shaver. They are also familar with turbo Buicks and have been real helpful when I call them asking them questions. They might be back logged since they are in demand. I had my machine work done there and am pretty happy with it. West side did a complete rebuild for me and it turned out really good. Both these guys were the most reasonable when I was calling around for prices. The only reasom I went with H.E.& B was because West Side was on the other side of town.

If you want a good shop look at ledfords machine In Waco. The crank grinder gets cranks from all over the world and really knows what he's doing. Gary has a torque plates so he can do the V6 or SBB engines without any problem. Just make sure you tell them exactly what you wnat them to do including clearance.

Thanks guys...I really dont know much about the cars, I was just looking to have the stock motor rebuilt I was hoping to make a daily driver out of it..nothing to radical. Not sure how much I should allow for?
