I just post this on the New Product post...And i would like to see a new version of a scanmaster that shows the boost that the car detonates..Maybe run a vacuum line to it, so it can record the boost also  if this does come in production can i get some kind of rolayity (loot):D

To me, Scanmaster infers, scanning. It's extremely useful just as a scanner.

If you want to record stuff, then you want a data logger, ie something like Direct Scan. If you want to record boost, then use the Boost sensing harness from Turbolink.

If you want to work the numbers out, you can read the boost sensing harness on scanmaster.

Some searching will reveal lots of info., on the subjects.

i dont know to much about the data logger or direct scan, i just like to have something simply that is small enough and with just a touch of a button that can give me the info i want...including boost...but i guess a new version or advance technology will not see the scanmaster...to me or my opion its about advancement and breaking the law when someone says IT CANT BE DONE.........

I run a boost sensing harness on my car so on my Scanmaster the temperature output is actually boost/vacuum. As mentioned above you can simply buy the harness and 3 BAR MAP sensor. As far as showing knock associated to boost it would never turn out very well because the Scanmaster can only update as fast as the serial output and the data frames are not consistent (ie. the knock you saw in the display can occur as much as a second in time different from the O2 value displayed). Many knock counts appear on my knock gauge are never even shown in the scanmaster.

On the other hand a relatively simple code patch could record the boost level whenever knock is present. The code operates at 80 times per second so its as fast as the ECM is. This boost value can be written to one of the spare RAM locations and displayed instead of something like LV8 which is fairly useless anyway.

I do something similar in my chips only I log the peak boost seen since key-on and display it through the Scanmaster LV8 setting.

In total, you need a boost sensing harness and a modified chip. So yes the technology pieces are there.

Thanks for the info, i knew nothing about boost sensing harness, but it was just a idea that was already thought of:) GOD BLESS
