Have you done this.. I thought about that and thought.. WOW.. that's slick. Protect your stereo from being stolen and your car. Only problem I thought of and I'm thinking of fix now. Say you have it hooked up to kill 'fuel'. When you're cranking the car, the radio turns off again while cranking and turns back on after it's running. So wouldn't this kill the 'fuel' while cranking as well? Not critizing.. I like the idea. Thanks for sharing it!

I remember a friend was working on a car at a body shop that had it set up so that you could only start the car if you turned the lights on. Guess that wouldn't work with Twilight Sentinel.

No I haven't (and will never talk fully about my antitheft) but now that you mention it, a medium sized capacitor will hold open the relay long enough to get it started. If not then deploy a momentary on toggle somewhere out of reach for emergencys.

Ever hear of a self energising relay, once power is supplied it does everything untill the car is shut off. If not then do some reading.

sorrie guys i didn't know that teletrac was only available in cali. It will work nation wide for me, so i dont see y any one out side the state could get one installed. It truly is the best alarm system out there.

What makes it so good is.....it is the one product out of all the lowjaks, vipers, kill switches, ect. that makes me have peace of mind when i go somewere. I never worrie about it getting stolen because i know it is just a phone call away. No other anti theif product has made me feel this way about my car being stolen.

You know I bet if someone wrote a letter to Arnald wishing teletrac was available outside the state i bet he would make it so. He is a very cool people person....outside all the bs of polotics, he is a cool guy.

One of the setups I made for my car is a hidden momentary switch to start the car. The thing I like about it is I never have to worry about flipping a switch, its always set. The switch is really well hidden as I had a friend standing in the drivers door and I showed him it wouldn't start then waved my hand and it started, he liked that although I'll admit when waving my hand and saying abra-cadabra it was distracting.

Anyway, I like the idea of being able to hand someone my keys and say go take it and they can't. The other thing I did was hide a fuse socket so if I ever have to take the car to a shop, I can plug in a fuse to bypass and they never have to know my start method.

The only bad thing is if the car dies while driving for some reason you have to use both hands to start the car and steer with the knee while in the process.

This setup can be made with a generic horn button or similar type momentary switch, one relay, one spade fuse socket and some wire and crimp connectors. I hope this info gets some of you thinking and you build something similar to save the cars you have.
