As some of you may have read, I have had a major shorting electrical problem in my car.
I replaced my battery, and I noticed that my positive line going to the Cap is shorted to ground.
If I remove the capacitor, how do I check it to see if it's cooked?

Do you have a multimeter? If you do, with the cap disconnected, set the meter to measure resistance, on say the 200 ohm range, and connect it to the cap observing the correct polarity. It should read a low resistance and then the reading should begin to increase. How fast it increases depends on the meter, the range it's on, farad value of the cap, etc. If the resistance reading stays fairly low, that would indicate there is a short in it.
