I received the shielding for my DS today, and it does not appear to fit very easily over the ribbon cable unless I fold and wad it up real tight which could damage the wire inside the ribbon cable.
Or do I just stretch the crap out of this shielding to make it wide enough for the ribbon to fit in...

Just thought there might be a easy trick to this stuff.
The shielding is like a tube of bradded steel like would go on bradded fuel line hose.

I took the ribbon cable and folded the end at an angle so it changed the connector position 90 degrees so its length was now along the length of the cable. I then bunched up the shielding and slowly fed and pulled over the end and onto the ribbon cable. Next just make sure the shielding has solid constant contact against the ecm case for emi grounding and your all set. I also used a little duct tape on the ends to keep the shielding from shredding and to keep it covering the very ends of the cable.

The shielding cable only covers about 1/2 the length of the ribbon cable, is this right?

Nope, should cover all of it. I had one of the early DS units which had a long cable so I had to get a longer one from Conleys which they didn't have a problem with, good people.
