Start by taking off the escutcheons for the pull strap. Remove the two philips head screws that are now exposed. Unscrew the plastic-chrome door lock cap.
The next step involves popping out the clips. There is a tool you can get for ~$10 from a auto parts store. It's similar to a screwdriver, but the tip is V'd and then bent on an angle. The upper door panels slide into the lower ones, so you might have to take the lowers off too. Anyhow, on the top panel, there should be either 2 or 4 plastic clips holding on the panel. I know for sure that there's at least one at both the left and right ends of the door panel. I almost always break these myself, so count on going to the auto parts store to get a pack of new ones.
Once the clips break/come loose, you should be able to lift the upper door panel straight up, about 2 inches, and then pull it away from the door. There you will see the wiring for the window controls. "Unscrew" (and pull) the 1/2" blue cap off the back of the switch. You can then firmly pull off the electrical connector, EVENLY. The door panel can now be set aside.
In the event you need to pull the lower one too, remove the two vertical philips screws within the handle itself. Then pull the handle towards the front of the door about an 1" and then pull off the door handle completely. You will then see 2 large silver philips screws that must come out. Then, around the outer edge (left, bottom and right, none at the top) is about 8 of those plastic clips that have to be pulled out. If the panel has to come completely off (and depending on your options), you may need to use a small allen wrench to loosen the screw holding the remote control mirror joystick in place. Disconnect the power door locks (very similar to the window controls) and the door speakers.
