How does a MAF effect how the car runs?

Well I don't think I beat on the car. I had good readings based on the scanmaster before I went to the strip. I then put it on the trailer because I didn't want to lift the heads if you go read the I'm going to Cordova thread.

I taking the right steps to get the data I need so give me a break!

Will it show only in the AFs on the scanmaster or will it also show up in the INTs and BLMs? My car starts and idles fine all the way to operating temperature and then once I hit the gas once for a small rev the int BLMs increase slowly and then max out at 150.
 
The purpose of the MAF is to measure the ammount of air entering the engine. If it's bad it's sending the wrong info to the computer so your mixture will be off so performance suffers. +1 on what earlbrown said.


His TT chip doesn't use the MAF at WOT so it probably won't affect that aspect of operation. The driveability will be much better though and as mentioned, idle quality. If using an Extender chip and Translator, then the MAF is being used at WOT.
