I have a '85 T-Type, its a hot air with the 86/87 ECM, stock chip in it currently. Stock everything, how fast can I go with the stock injectors, stock chip, stock turbo?

How much boost can i turn up before I need to change the injectors? I'd like to max out all the stock parts and then go bigger everything once I hit that goal.

Since those injectors are over 1/4 century old, and the chip isn't worth a crap, I would say you can haul ass right into an engine rebuild.

Go ahead and take care of the preventative maintenance items then beat on it. There's no shame in haveing accurate injectors and a modern calibrated chip.

I went 12.58@105 with only a K&N, 160 stat, custom chip, and drag radials. Still through the stock exhaust.

We'll since it seems the injector and chip combos for 60's and 80's are the same price, why wouldn't I want to do 80's for extra room for future mods.

I know 60's and 80's are over kill for the car, although I could do E-85 then for extra knock protection. Anyone use E-85 with a basically stock car with big injectors? I know I'd need a pretty strong fuel pump in the future.

80's are great injectors. I just converted a stock long block 87 with bolt ons to E85. I still have the 255lph pump in the tank. It cannot keep up. The hot air will love the E85. In reality, a stock hotair on 21psi will only need a 255lph pump with e85.
